Time To Be The Church

In this current day and age, in the "social media" age of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, everyone has a voice. Everyone has an opinion. The question is, is anybody saying anything with meaning or value? Do people post just to have an opinion? When individuals discuss or even argue, are they willing to be swayed, or are they already entrenched in their positions? As members of the body of Christ, are we trying to win souls, or are we more concerned with winning the argument? We argue about wearing masks and whether or not COVID is overblown or a conspiracy theory. We trash the President, his opponent, the protestors, the looters, the Congress, Hollywood,  Republicans,  Democrats, Libertarians, the Pope, conspiracy theorists, the news, and anything else that irks us on that particular day. We are more worried about pointing out the things that separate us from God than we are about pointing out how God saved us. Don't get me wrong, truth is truth and sin is sin and no concocted 21st century explanation will change the inspired Word of God. We are called to stand up for the truth. But when the church doesn't act like the church, people will notice. We either compromise scripture or try to judge the lost and fallen world WE are not called to judge, and never were told to judge. Why are we surprised when the world, I don't know, acts like the world? We are called to hold our BROTHERS and SISTERS in Christ accountable. Those who reject God will be judged by God according to what they have done. So finger pointing at a world who doesn't believe in or who rejects God completely is a waste of time. Yes, we defend our faith. But too often, we jump out of left field into the arena where honestly, they don't care what we have to say. Be ready to share your faith. Know the Word and LIVE the Word. We are not commanded in scripture to be activists. We are called to live out our faith. We are called to share our faith. We aren't called to condemn the world. If approached by an unbeliever, be honest. But why do we pick fights? We must embody Christ. If we don't do that, we've already lost them.

Is It All The Same?

If everyone has an opinion about how the world functions around us, and some of those ideas seemingly are in conflict with each other, then can each of the individual claims still be true? If one person believes something to be true, but another person believes something contrary,  can these two statements both be true? This conflict is seemingly what individuals in our world today appear to be claiming. It is easier to see this conflict if specific examples are given. If I say a personal being created the universe out of nothing, thus had a beginning, but you say the universe is eternal, thus had no beginning,  can we just agree that both of us are right? Or do we, by declaring we are both correct,  destroy all logical principles as we know them?

Nothing Surprises Our God

Everything isn't a conspiracy.  But even if it is, NOTHING surprises our GOD. He predicted all this in the SCRIPTURE.  It is sad to see the CHURCH in so much FEAR. If you are a believer, we are better served preaching the gospel than arguing over masks, viruses, riots, protests and our "freedom." Yes we should be aware that our government may not always have our best interests, but letting our skepticism of the government shine brighter than our faith in Messiah shows our priorities can easily get misplaced! Also, if we live our lives trying not to offend the world and to be everyone's friend, we have missed our calling. Paul wrote that our faith is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks. God also said he uses the simple things of this world to humble those who think they are wise. The GOSPEL is rubbishness to those who are perishing,  but to those of us being saved, Eternal Life. Do not be discouraged.  Pray for those who persecute us! Jesus told us they would! Respond in love and in truth! We can't just yell at people, we must listen. But that doesn't mean we water down the truth of God's word. I love all of you. Believers, let's live a life worthy of the gospel we preach.  Peace.
